Overview

Sapphires are among the most versatile and globally demanded precious gemstones, prized for their exceptional hardness (9 on the Mohs scale), color range, and investment stability. While blue sapphires are the most recognized, sapphires occur in virtually every color — including the rare and highly prized padparadscha (pink-orange), yellow, green, purple, and parti-colored stones. The most valuable sapphires are Kashmir-origin stones (now extremely rare), followed by Burmese (Myanmar) and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) sapphires. Madagascar has emerged as the world's leading commercial source, producing stones of excellent quality and color. We source sapphires from Sri Lanka (Ceylon), Madagascar, Myanmar (Burma), Tanzania, and Australia through verified mining companies and certified dealers. All investment-grade stones are accompanied by laboratory reports from GRS, Gübelin, or GIA with full disclosure of heat treatment status — unheated Ceylon and Kashmir-type stones command the highest premiums.
